The Garland collection takes inspiration from the wonderful phenomenon of the cherry blossom season. My designs have become an abstract appreciation of the cherry blossom, as original drawings for these pieces came from my own pressings of the petals taken one spring. I carefully selected elements from my drawings that would become new 3D shapes, individually cut out in Silver and arranged into a new organic form. I like that customers often see different organic shapes in these pieces, usually stars or birds and butterflies, as this fits with my ambition to be inspired by nature but never trying to imitate it.
A symbol of extreme beauty and renewal, the blossom aligns with my ethos that Jewellery should last a lifetime and then have another.
